In order to provide a safe and equitable learning environment for all students, the NVA school Board has adopted a school discipline policy. Using the policy as a guideline, the administration is responsible for implementing a fair and consistent process that ensures the health, safety, and well being of each student.

The maintenance of discipline is the responsibility of all school staff with whom the children have contact. This includes teachers, support staff, and administration. Any member of the school staff can initiate the disciplinary process as a result of behavior that is inappropriate or dangerous.

We ask that parents become familiar with statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern and safeguard their child while in the educational setting. Parent and school staff cooperation can often have a very positive influence on student behavior.

A student is responsible for his/her own behavior. The following guidelines of student responsibility will help ensure a sage, pleasant, and productive learning environment.

  • Respect other students and staff in our school community
  • Cooperate and participate in the learning process
  • Complete assigned work in a timely manner
  • Attend school regularly
  • Respect school and others personal property
  • Avoid indecent or offensive language
  • Be aware of all school rules and comply with them
